CareersFinancial Accountant (Contract)
The Financial Accountant role (FA) carries substantial responsibility and accountability. Reporting directly to the Financial Controller, this position involves a broad spectrum of finance responsibilities and requires a wide range of knowledge and experience.
The Financial Accountant is responsible for preparing month end accounts, providing analysis to budget, with a particular focus on the Revenue and opex lines, and assisting in general finance queries.
Job Title: Financial Accountant
Location: Dublin/Limerick/Remote
- Year end and month end Accounts preparation with responsibility for the reporting files.
- Business performance analysis including monthly, YTD, YOY profitability and actual vs budget variances
- Accurate and timely reporting of Revenue numbers
- Prepare and review cost analysis and forecasts
- Maintenance of balance sheet accounts such as Accruals, Deferred Revenue etc
- Support in preparation of year end statutory accounts and facilitating Auditor requests.
- Collaborate with IT and our external consultants in progressing the ERP systems upgrade and delivering key milestones.
- Ensure the full integrity of the financial information reported to management in line with good accounting practices and internal policies.
- Other Ad hoc tasks and projects as required
Career Path Information
Required Qualifications/Experience:
- Qualified ACA/ACCA/CIMA with minimum of 5 years relevant experience.
- Must be analytical with high proficiency in MS Excel
- Capable of achieving a high level of independent responsibility and personal accountability,
- Be able to work on their own initiative
- Experience working as part of a team
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to plan and prioritize work activities and use time efficiently
